The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 and 2025 Kia EV6 boast 5-star NHTSA crash test safety ratings and pack an impressive array of safety features. We were surprised to find that even with the IONIQ 6's significant price advantage, it only has one less standard safety feature than the Kia EV6.

Climbing into the cabin of the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 reminds you what it's like to lower yourself into your favorite lounge chair after a long, stressful day. The design has an airy feel with excellent sightlines, and the lack of a transaxle means there's more space for rear-seat occupants and a handy storage compartment under the center console. Hyundai went to great lengths to add several layers of sound-deadening materials throughout the cabin, which creates an incredibly serene driving experience perfect for a trip to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame just outside Bedford, Ohio.

In all fairness, the 2025 Kia EV6 shares a lot of the same underpinnings as the IONIQ 6, meaning it also has the same advantages; however, you'll have to pay significantly more for them. The only reason then to buy an EV6 over an IONIQ 6 is if you have a serious need for speed, as the Kia can be outfitted with a dual-engine setup that produces up to 640 horsepower. However, we think most EV buyers are more concerned with range than performance.
