Hyundai introduced its "N" subbrand almost a decade ago, promising to deliver bona fide performance vehicles to rival competitors. For more traditional EV buyers who don't care about power and want range, the IONIQ 5 has you covered with single or dual-motor setups that are capable of up to an impressive 318 miles of range. Best of all, the Hyundai helps you cover more ground and get back on the road quicker after recharging by being the first model with a NACS port that enables it to charge up at any of the over 17,000 points in Tesla's supercharger network.

While the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E bears the name of a performance car, it misses the mark on hard numbers compared to the IONIQ 5. The top-spec performance-oriented GT model has a dual motor setup similar to the IONIQ's; however, it's only good for 480 horsepower, a major deficit when compared to the IONIQ 5 N's 601 horsepower. In fairness, Ford does offer the Mach-E with lesser single and dual motor setups capable of up to a competitive 320 miles of range to please range-conscious drivers.
